Non- Cyclonic and Cyclonic Models
Any building should be engineered to handle the local wind conditions. In the northern part of the state near the coast, this means it has to be made to withstand an event like a cyclone. We can design for any wind region.
What Wind Regions are there in Queensland?
All the main wind regions can be found in the state. The terminology used for wind regions has changed over the years, but basically remains the same.
Region A or N2 – This is non- cyclonic and cover much of inland Qld
Region B or N3 – This is also a non- cyclonic area and cover the South east corner of the state, and up the coast to just below Bundaberg.
Region C or C2 – The ‘C’ denotes being a cyclonic wind region. The bottom boundary is determined by the 25 degree latitiude line. It then extends all the way up the coast to the top of Queensland and around the Gulf of Carpentaria to the border.
As you can see by the above information, it is vital to have the correct site address to determine the right wind rating and engineering.

Yes, every shed supplied comes with compliant engineering. This way, you know that your steel building passes Australian standards and wind codes. At the time of writing this entails a Form 15 together with all the relevant drawings for your diy or built project.
Approval Requirements for a QLD Sheds
In most cases, approval is needed from your local authority to put up a shed. Check with the council, or a local private building certifier, in your area as to what is needed. Please note that Excalibur Sheds provides engineering with every shed at no extra cost. This is a genuine saving to you and without proper engineering, you cannot get approval.
